What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the process of using the state of hypnosis for therapeutic purposes. It is a talking therapy. It is safe, proven and an effective tool for accessing the power of the unconscious mind to achieve your goals or resolve an issue. A hypnotherapist communicates with the unconscious part of the mind, overriding the conscious rational to help you to make positive and lasting changes in your life.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is defined as a pleasant and relaxed state of mind which allows a concentrated mental focus. It is very similar to being in a day dream. When the hypnotic state is induced, positive suggestions are given to improve your thinking and behaviour. Negative ideas and emotions are removed to bring about positive change in a calm and relaxing way.
What is Clinical Hypnotherapy?
A tailored treatment using hypnosis to help someone achieve what they want to in life. Very often a specific goal is in mind. Or the eradication of unwanted feelings, behaviours, habits and fears and phobias.
The Conscious Mind
Your conscious mind is the mind you are thinking with right now! You use your conscious mind for rationalising, analysing things and making sense of things. The conscious mind thinks it runs the show. To a degree it does but the majority of our processing is done unconsciously and automatically, without thinking about it. For example your breathing and food digestion is done automatically. You tend not to think about it. It just happens all by it’s own accord.
The Unconscious Mind
Our unconscious mind is an incredibly powerful tool. It regulates our lives even though we do not realise it. It tells us when we are hungry, tired, in pain, and even when to breathe. The unconscious part of the mind is where we day dream and this is where our memories are stored.
